Hi Newgrounds!

It's been awhile since I submitted anything and I'm glad I finally got around to finishing Zelda- Link and the Pig! It's in the portal right now so please check it out and let me know what you think! It was a project that was nearly finished last year but took a back seat to some other projects and I hadn't really gotten the chance to finish it until recently.

It was a lot of fun to animate and I've always been inspired creatively by the Zelda games so it was a labor of love for the most part. I really hope you guys enjoy it. I actually started this cartoon before "Life with Navi" which I made for a collab on YouTube last year. But soon after that project I was asked to do the Zelda segment for NiN10Doh! 64. I'm pretty "Zelda-ed out" after all this, but each project was fun and helped me practice so I think it was worth it.

I'll be working on a new holiday animation over break, but I have finals the next couple weeks so I may not be able to touch that project for a little while. The hope is to get it ready for Christmas but it's going to be a huge crunch if I pull it off.

So check out my new animation! I hope to update and have more new stuff soon!

Very well animated, fluid, and although you do go a little off-model now and then, it's done well and helps give the characters lots of expression. Good comedic timing, good pacing and excellent voice work. Not the most original story on earth, but you pull it off with style and sheer overall quality.

All in all, a great little movie, hope to see more from you in the future!

Ya, I definently see the off-model areas in it, I think that was mostly because I took such huge breaks between working on different segments. I hope to get your feedback in the future! :)

Got a laugh out of me with that ending. Heh. I also enjoyed what you did with his bracelets, and "Pot-head" (this one was perfect).

For the animation itself, I'm not gonna say it was bad or something like that, but you might want to work on anticipation. Many times, Link seemed to be moving just a tad too fast. This was specially noticeable in the beggining, but it got better towards the ending.
Shame half the island had to die for it :)
Moving on, Link's voice was amazing. Quoting another reviewer:
"If link spoke in the games. That would be the perfect voice for him."
Anyway, I was wondering, how did you make those subtitles work? If you don't know how to explain, could you at least point me to the site you learned from?
I'd really appreciate it.

Keep up the good work. Also, you might want to put some ads in your next movie. This was barely released and I have a big hunch that it's gonna get a tank award, probably first place too, and this draws in quite some viewers.

As for the subtitles ON/OFF buttons I think I just made it so that when you pressed OFF a bar the same color as the background for the text would be on top of the text area so you just don't see it. For the ON button I just made the same bar have 0% alpha. If you need the code for the buttons or more details you can PM me :)

Oh, I forgot to mention one thing... Trim down songs. This should decrease the file size dramatically.
Use Audacity or something. It's free :3

Then again, everything is free on the internet if you know where to look for.

Doing animations frame by frame creates a lot of raw art which creates pretty big file sizes vs. tweens which uses the same drawing in several frames. Suprisingly the audio wasn't too bad once I turned it all into one mp3.

You probably shouldn't put your Wacom pen in your mouth. It can't be good for the thing. Same with the graphite... I mean, what, are you trying to get lead poisoning??

I remember seeing a work in progress thing of this months ago. Turned out ok! Have to agree with Vert though, it does go off-model a fair bit.

Btw, when I mentioned that you go off-model, I don't necessarily mean that in a bad way. Slight exaggerations now and then (but perhaps not constantly, unless your doing something a la Ren and Stimpy), can look really good, by allowing for more expressionated faces and actions... which is pretty much what you do in this animation.
